Long Time No Write!

Hey guys! Boy, it's been a long time! We have been really busy working on the new house, we have a hole in the ground now!!! You have no idea how happy this makes me. Not only do we have a hole, we also have a wall of solid concrete lining three sides of it, is that not awesome? Before you know it the plumbing will be in and the slab will be poured, then we get the framer out etc. etc. etc.. Anyone who has built a house before will know the agony and the ecstasy of the endeavor. Happiness shall soon be ours! It will be wonderful to get out of the big city and live out where there's a little elbow room. More sky, more grass, a whole lot more trees, it's gonna be great!

Steve's Funny Little Poll-Like Thingy

Okay, here is the fifth complete sentence of page 161 of the book "Honey For A Teen's Heart" by Gladys Hunt and Barbara Hampton: Or do you feel a good swift kick in the pants might do him some good?" (talking about Holden Caufield of "The Catcher in the Rye")

Grace

I wish that people could see all of the good of me and none of the bad.

I wish that people could see all of my talents and not see my downfalls.

I wish that people could see all of my knowledge and not see my ignorance.

I wish that people could see all of my love and not see my annoyance.

I wish that people could see that calm, productive, peacemaker side of me and not the flustered, lazy, argumentative side.

There are times when one looks at oneself and wonders, “What does everyone else see?”

There are times when one wonders, “Can they read my mind when I thank God for them? Do they know when I am praying for them?”

And then I realize that I see all the bad of people, and none of the good.

I realize that I see all of their downfalls, and not their talents.

I realize that I see all of their ignorance, and none of their knowledge.

I realize that I see all of their annoyance, and none of their love.

I always see the flustered, lazy, argumentative side of people, and not the calm, productive, peacemaker side of them.

How can I be such a hypocrite?

It’s easy, because we all have good days, and bad days. The key is Grace, something that humanity couldn’t possibly function without.

Lobsters, Fog, Happy Dances and Teacups

Wow, I had such a good time at Silver Dollar City! Our family went with Aubrey and Cameron and we stayed at the park for hours . After looking around at the booths and stores, Mom and Dad went to see a show while 'us kids' went to the Grand Exposition. The cool part was that it was misting and the fog was closing in the whole time . When we went up to Wildfire you couldn't see the far loop from the gift shop there was so much fog!!! It was so fun, we all had a great time (and Aubrey and I got hot turnovers, yum).

That's something great about friendship, you know? The idea that you can do silly little things like laughing on mini roller coasters and twirling around in over-sized teacups, and, since you have your friends there with you, it's totally alright. Of course, if you were doing it all by yourself it would be another matter, but since they're there, cheering you on and having fun themselves, it doesn't seem so childish anymore .

Autumn

Wow, you know, no matter how many years one lives, there is always the amazing sight of Autumn coming at the appointed time. Sometimes its a little early, some times its a little late, but its always here! The crisp, cool breezes coming out of the north, the explosion of color everywhere, its like the colors of the summer flowers are being transfered to the trees! Isn' t it fabulous? One can almost see God's hand painting the hills with supernatural paints.

I'm recovering from my wisdom teeth surgery and am on solid foods now. I feel like I'm a member of the human race for the first time in a long time! Who else has had their wisdom teeth out? Comment on it below, I'd like to hear your stories.
